Fat Removal for Men
Whether you’re a man who wants to look great shirtless, fit into that sleek suit or accelerate your sex life with renewed self-confidence, Dr. Ennis’ male liposuction procedure can help get you there. This procedure removes fat from places where it commonly collects on a man’s body: specifically the chest, stomach, waist and hips. These and other portions of the male body can have a more sculpted look from a liposuction treatment. Even a small amount of fat removal can do wonders for restoring youth and definition to a man’s appearance.

Male Liposuction Before & After – Actual Patients
Dr. Ennis Helps Men Worldwide Achieve a More Sculpted Look
Dr. Ennis understands that plastic surgery is not just for women, and that men have their own unique body sculpting needs. For his male patients, Dr. Ennis has used liposuction to effectively remove sagging or puffy flesh that accumulate on a man’s chest, stomach and other common areas.
Is Male Liposuction Right for You?
If you’re wondering whether you are a good candidate for the male liposuction procedure, here are some general characteristics of a good candidate:
- Is in good health, with no serious medical conditions
- Has extra stomach fat, or a “spare tire” on the outside of the muscles that is pinchable
- Has puffy, feminine-looking chest, or “man boobs”
- Is within 20 percent of their target weight
- Has maintained a stable weight for several months
- Has firm, elastic skin
Men with intra-abdominal fat, or the so called “beer belly,” carry their fat on the inside of their muscles and unfortunately it is not amenable to liposuction. Diet and exercise are really the only option for correcting intra-abdominal fat.
Can Male Liposuction Be Used as Weight Loss Surgery?
Male liposuction is ideal for you if you are close to a healthy weight, but still have fat bulges on your body that you’d like to smooth out for a more toned appearance. If, however, you are a man who is seeking to lose more than 20 percent of your body weight, then the liposuction procedure is not a good option for you at this time. Liposuction is considered a body contouring procedure, not a weight loss surgery, as it is not designed to remove a large portion of fat from focal areas of the body.
What to Expect from the Liposuction Procedure
The male liposuction procedure is identical to the standard liposuction procedure used for women, in that it uses the same tools and techniques to remove fat; the only difference is the location of the fat deposits, which are specific to the male body.
The liposuction procedure is typically performed under general anesthesia so that the patient is asleep throughout the treatment. Often, a local anesthetic is also used to numb the treatment area for increased post-operative comfort.
The doctor will begin the procedure by injecting a large amount of anesthetic (tumescent) fluid into the treatment area. He will then make small incisions in well-hidden locations surrounding the treatment area. A small cannula will be then inserted through these incision points in order to remove the fat, after which the doctor will use dissolvable sutures to close the incisions.
The patient is placed in a soft compression garment to hold the skin tight and minimize the swelling. This is typically worn for four weeks. Most patients like to wear it as it is more comfortable to have on during the recovery period.
